Of all the different scales available to model railway collectors my personal favourite is the O scale also referred to as the O gauge trains and sometimes simply as “large scale”. O gauge trains are rarely cheap but if you can afford the investment then they are usually well worth aquiring both in terms of asset appreciation and personal enjoyment. They do require a larger space to set up a working layout so you should allow for at least a 6′ x 6′ table area to install your O gauge trains and track.
Here are the O Gauge train results for collectors looking specifically for O Gauge. If this page is empty, be sure to check this site again later for more O Gauge train listings as these listings are updating hourly or even more frequently. The best O gauge trains are always in high demand by model railway collectors. You can see some results from a search below but there are times when O Gauge trains and listings simply may not be available for sale at all. Many of the popular and exceptional items are not often found for sale as people usually keep them at home and rarely sell treasures like these.

I bought the above locomotive at an auction recently, (sold as tested, working). I do not have a layout. The model is in a display case. However, I recently tried to rotate the driving wheels by hand but found them unable to move. Should they rotate without power?
Also there are two rods with buttons on the end inside the cab. Can you tell me what these controls do?
Many thanks

O gauge trains and model railways are great but what about full sized steam trains, narrow gauge and heritage railways?
Around Britain there are numerous steam railway museums, some of which have O Gauge model railways exhibited to give a realistic view of what the particular railway line was like back in the days of steam, and there are others with full sized original or restored steam engines and vintage carriages.
Here’s a taste of what you might see at Tenterden in Kent for example.
And of course there are all those great little trains in Wales.

I have just bought the Hornby Flying Scotsman Set (R1072) which includes Track Packs A (R8221) and B (R8222) and one train controller (R965). I have also bought, in addition, Pack C(R8223). How many transformers/controllers (of type R965) do I need to have to operate just my Flying Scotsman Locomotive on all of my track?
I know that if I buy another train, I will definitely need two controllers to operate both trains, but how many will I need to operate just one train?
Thank you for your help.
Visit a local hobby shop near you.
They should have a reasonable answer for you.

I want to know the value of a hornby dublo train set from 1961, it’s a flying scot model 2034
Is this it?

if it is, I would keep a watch on it, so you can see what it goes for, if it sells, good luck.

I bought my hubby a hornby train set thinking it was made in Britain only to find out it was made in China! Was Hornby ever made there?
so why has it got stamped on it “made in China”?
I heard some of their stuff is made in their factory in Margate but most of it comes from China nowadays
I just wondered how many readers out there really do collect O-Gauge trains?
And does your apartment look like a well stocked hobby shop filled to the ceiling with your treasures like mine is?
Yes I do and a small hobby shop does not do me justice.
I collect MTH (90 %) and Lionel
